2022 was a great year for NEWMAN Guitars!

Yes, it’s another year gone bye literally. As I look back on the 2022 year, there are so many reasons to consider it a “great year.”First off, it was a big moment having ZZ Top’s Billy F Gibbons and Elwood Francis playing matching NEWMANs on the Raw Whiskey Tour. Working with them and the crew was a blast once again. Then…it goes deeper in the goodness with the Vintage Guitar Magazine Review by Tom Guerra in the 10/22 issue which launched the Honeycomb Chambered Jr Model. That guitar design is a pleasure in every way and that resonates in the review. The excellence in the year continues with a big cornerstone article “Birth of NEWMAN Guitars” in the 9/22 issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine. That specific article was important in telling the story of our past, present and future. On the building front, we made a few prototypes including one from a bunch of Billy F Gibbons sketches from 2018. Another bright light to the year was when we sold a couple of our favorite builds to our best friends, being the original Ted Walnut Wheat and Wings Model Black serial W-002 going to new homes. Then, 2 Legacy Models (#8 and #9) were completed by Saul Koll later in the year and sold within days. They were 2 stunning examples of the 11 total Flamed Cherry NeckThru’s that made up the Legacy Models. We also continue to work with Robert Mondell and the amazing 5 String Open G UniTone guitars and expand our 5 String offerings. So…we are grateful to so many that helped us make 2022 a historic year. We have made a lot a right choices with the right people in 2022. I’ll keep a steady course for 2023 and keep the company healthy and growing. We are uniquely positioned in a crowded space thanks to all of you. Jeff Smith
