What makes us different?

In essence, NEWMAN Guitars is different because we are not the same. How are we different than so many popular guitar designs and brands you may ask?

We make a unique 5 String Open G electric guitar, a comfortable fret spacing with 24.75” scale with 24 frets, specially carved neck balanced to the hand with our Asymmetrical V shaped Ted Neck Carve, as well as unique chambering for reduced weight and increased body resonance.

All relevant points, but most of all, our difference is connected to our body and headstock design and Ambigram logo that remains unchanged since 1978. Our guitars are uniquely our own and not built from the premise of being like so many other comfortable and quality options. We were established because Keith Richards and Ted Newman Jones had a vision to build a different looking, sounding and playing guitar.

46 years later, we strive to bring a new experience in tone, playability, durability, design diversity and quality. When an off the shelf guitar or even custom build of a popular brand doesn’t cater to a players preference, we to rise to the occasion. We will always be a boutique builder bringing our differences to the hands and ears of the player. We will work hard to embrace the essence of what Ted and Keith put together in Austin, TX in 1978: Great wood, great design, tone and feel, all while chasing the desire to be different.
