2024 is fun run!
NEWMAN Guitars is on a great run! We continue to build specialty guitars in our USA Custom Shop for our clients who prefer specific designs and 1 of a kind features. Our shop time has been jammed and we still have sold builds to build. 2024 also got off to a bang start when we announced a relationship with Cream T in the UK which has allowed us to expand our brand with a UK built NEWMAN. To get our story out to the public, we decided to begin where the company started back in the 1970’s, with a 5 String Open G electric guitar. We worked towards getting a 5 String built and approved and after 2 revisions, we accomplished our goal. We had designed a bridge as well as great pickups specifically voiced for a 5 string. Mid-year, we finalized design and made our first run of 12. Then, going back to our history, our story was published in Guitarist Magazine May 2024 issue. This was a great cornerstone article which shows our past, present and future. We then scheduled a review with Guitarist Magazine on a 5 String to follow up. That review was done by a consummate and respected professional David Burrluck, and was published in Guitarist Magazine Summer 2024 issue. Blazing through the pioneering of the 5 String built in the UK has been great fun! To introduce something that hasn’t been widely available otherwise is great to grind through the process. It provides unique purpose to the guitar player since the 5 is a rut breaking tool for songwriters. The 5’s reside in the midrange tonally where the hooks and riffs linger and simple chords play over the top of other musical ideas.
Building 6 String guitars is the obvious direction we have always been focused on. However, sometimes it is necessary to tell the story of where you’ve been. The 6’s being built now in the UK are tops in quality and match our playing experience goals for the player and artist whom we’ve worked with at the USA Custom Shop and throughout the past 40 + years as NEWMAN Guitars.
I invite you to follow our story. Read a magazine, listen to a PodCast, follow us on FB, Instagram, YouTube, find us at a guitar show, contact us or sign up for information on the Cream T Website. We are on a great run and I hope you follow along and support our story. Jeff Smith/NEWMAN Guitars
